Our water main broke Thursday, and of course, the water company said it was our problem. So I got off work early saturday, a beautiful Saturday at that, to spend it digging a gigantic hole in my yard. Then spending plenty of time almost upside down in said hole to clean the rust and cemented on dirt off the pipe.

So of course I get a nice nickle sized blister on my hand, which popped, and didn't realize it even did till it was full of dirt. But I'll take a dozen blisters if it means running water! Which we now have, thanks to the expertize of my father-in-law and the assistance of two nephews.

Now the hole just needs filled in, but I have homework so the Hubs is on his own.

Daughter and I are watching Ponyo for the second time! I love Miyazaki's films! I wish I had the other ones to watch with her! I might have to run down to the movie place to rent them! Totally worth it!

I am convinved that cats exert a gravitational force that makes it impossible to get up or move them when they are warm, sweet and purring on your lap. No matter how much you need to write that 2-3 page english paper for tomorow. (What me a procrastinator? No way!)

Earlier, Ally informed me that she does not like the petname "babycakes" but if I wanted to call her "Ashley" (which is our closest friend's little boy) that would be okay. She cracks me up!

So my Darling Daughter woke up six times last night. Hubby was nice and got up with her twice. But finally aroung 5:30 in the morning I had to resort to sleeping on the couch so I wouldn't hear her whining anymore. I was 15 mintues late to class.

On the upside, she is so tired out today she should sleep throught the night.

Joys of parenting.

My face hurts! Ugh, I hate headcolds, it's been a rotten week with one but hopefully I'm over the worst of it. Not much to report, third week of classes, had to cut my hours back at work (oh darn)because of day care.

Daughter is doing well, she has the headcold too, but seem's to be fairing better than mommy.

And she has also proven to be to smart for our own good. She's been moved to the 4-6 year-olds class at 2 1/2. I know, I'm doing that annoying parent thing and bragging about it. But I really think it was just the luck of genetics and not really anything to do with my husband and I.

Especially since it seems like I barley get to spend time with her anymore. Between work, class and everything else I do I barley have times like this for myself. The only reason I'm not up cleaning house or running errands is this horrible cold.

But I think my husband finally agrees that if we have a second child I get to quite working and just go to school and be a mommy.

Spent Two hours at the doctors office getting my foot examined while my daughter got into everything. Includung trying to climb the medical waste bin. The whole time she would not listen at all. I asked, I yelled, I spanked her adorable trouble making behind all to no avail. She was an absolute monster. She repeatedly ran away from me and I had to chase her down while limping in front of an audience.

Oh but she was an angel for one of the nurses while I got my foot X-rayed. I'm sure the sucker and stickers had nothing to do with it.

Then as we are getting home, my neighbor, his brother, and his son watched me chase her to get her in the house. I'd love to smack the stupid grins of their faces.

I need a stiff drink but I'm in Math class of all things. Good thing I've worked a little ahead.

Last night I tripped on my own flip-flop, fell out my own back door and sprained my ankle. I couldn't fall asleep till one last night because the pain and had to crawl around on my hands an kness this morning till it was lossened up enough that I could put my weight on it.

Good news is that after a few hours of babying it and a hot bath I can walk better now. I have also declared myself Super!Mom ttoday for making my daughter a hot breakfast while hopping on one foot!

Had a wedding last weekend, two former co-workers from Target got married, well, publicly. (They got married at the court house) I did hair and make up for the bridal party and Hubby was a gromsman.

We were off Sunday but so worn out and stressed we were at eachother's throats all day. But we made up before bed like we normally do. <3 It didn't help that I'm a slacker and was struggling all day to catch up on math homework, which I didn't.

Had the math test Monday, and I'm nervous to see how badly I bombed. It will be a miracle if I pass that class. Math and I have never been good friends.

Then, Tuesday Morning. I wake up and... UGH! Feel like crap. Then I step in crap on my way out the door. Then the supplies I needed didn't come in at work. Then just when I think I am going to get to go home early, we get slammed again!

I told my boss that we were busy cause they knew I was sicka nd they were conspiring against me. She had a good laugh at that. Things are going better there too. My mood overall has been on the up, for no reason that I can really tell, but I'll take it.

The bightside is that we are busy at work, which means more hours for me. Also, on Sunday we adopted a kitten. Her name is Penny and she is actually a cuddler, unlike our first cat Midgie. Who has been trying to set my head on fire with her glare for bringing THAT THING into her house.

Penny likes to curl up by my neck and purr! It's bliss!

Thanks to my lovely daughter, we are covered in powdered sugar. Even the cat, who let my daughter rub her powder-sugar donut on her head. Pathetic cat.

Not much to report. Work still is still rough, my house is a mess but I don't want to clean it (or be in it, cause then I have to look at the mess). It's raining today so I can't really use the excuse, "it's nice outside". Though I love rainiy spring weather!

Found this interesting thought I'd share.

http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2010/03/hacktheplanet-qa/

an excerpt

"
The main geoengineering techniques fall into two basic categories: One, the ways to block sunlight at different points in the atmosphere and earth system to lower the temperature rapidly in that way, and the other is enhancing the planet’s ability to take up carbon dioxide through a variety of techniques. So, sun-blocking and carbon-sucking are the two main ways."

1. I am miserable sick. Me and my clogged head will be going to bed soon, hopefully our sleep will not be intereupted by our hacking chest.

2. http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/charity/haiti.asp If you are wanting to help Haiti read the snopes page first. It tells you what's legit and what isn't. Though I'm sure it doesn't cover everything.

3. My cold of doom is making me crazy. I'm depressed over not being able to save the world in my every waking moment. <--crazy. I basically have guilt for exsisiting and needing to fullfil my basic needs in the society I was born in. <---crazy. I partly blame my ecology class, and my sociology classes, and psycology class. (It goes to show how just a little bit of knowledge can be a bad thing)

Breaking away from the list theme, a few thoughts I've been having latley, directed at myself and others in general.

Is it enough, to just worry about your own circle of friends and family?

Is that how it should be?

Why not do what you can, when you can to help others?

So you donate here and there, volunteer from time to time. Doesn't it all add up?

If you don't care, why are you still running your mouth?

I really just don't understand. I'm not sure if I don't understand people in general or a particulair type of person different from my own personality type.

Mom I miss you.

Really, there is not much going on here.

Last week at my Dad's went well. We made eachother cry, talking about Mom. I found her old jornal hidden amoung her books where she had written how she saw and felt out us children. It was beautiful. Odlly enough I had found the journal back in 2001, when I was still in highschool. I had written and entry in it to my mother. We cried for hours, Dad and I. The hardest thing in the world (currently that is) is to see your Dad bawling his eyes out.
